vast is the landscape of territories of Aragón. Extensive earth crossed by the Ebro that lock up
scenes that go from snow-covered summits of the national park of Ordesa, in the Pyrenees, to the central
plains or the steep elevations of the Iberian system. With a decisive paper historical in the configuration of
Spain that we know, it contains a splendid architecture to mudéjar and many conserved medieval towns.
Between centuries XII and XV Aragón it was a very powerful kingdom, during its days of splendor in
century XIII, its dominions extended by the Mediterranean until Sicily. In 1469 the marriage of Fernando II of
Aragón with Isabel of Castile facilitated the way for the unification of Spain.
After it reconquers it, the architects and musulmanos craftsmen, better treaties in the crown of
Aragón that in the rest of the peninsula, continued their work creating the style to mudejar, with elaborated
brick work and ceramic decoration. Its work is visible in churches distributed by all Aragón, with excellent
examples in Teruel and Zaragoza, as well as in the beautiful towers of Calatayud, Utebo and Tauste,
among other populations of the region. The highest tips of the Pyrenees are in the province of Huesca.
Some of the most beautiful views of the region are in spurs of the mountain range, crossed by the
Aragon lands variant of the Way of Santiago. Of between the many monasteries Aragonese, probably most
spectacular he is the one of San Juan de la peña - semiconcealed under a rocky cornice -, that was
founded on century IX.
The climate of the region is as variable as the landscape: to invier that they can be long and extreme
and warm summers and of escasísimas rains to us.
In a route by Aragón, the landscape includes from the Pyrenean stop, to the north of Huesca, to
wooded hills or precipices of the Maestrazgo, in the province of Teruel, happening through the plains of
Zaragoza. Very popular tourist destinies are good part of the many colorful or conserved towns, the national
park of Ordesa with their spectacular mountain landscape, that only can be visited after dehielo winter and
to a large extent foot, or valleys like Ansó and Hecho. Other attractive places are the castle of Loarre,
Daroca with their walls and colegiata, Albarracín or the impressive cascades of the Stone monastery.
