The present building that lodges the city council of Zaragoza is located between the Basilica of
Our Lady of the Pillar and the Market, and dates from the year 1963, until then ones the city council
was in the Seat of Santo Domingo.
The building is of dark brick, with a great balcony that it gives to the Seat of the Pillar and from
which efectua pregón that inagura the celebrations of the Pillar, the later part gives to the Echegaray
Stroll and Caballero (that passes parallel to the Ebro from the bridge of the Sources to the bridge of the
Almozara, where is the modern Seat of Europe, and that also passes behind the Market and the Pillar).
The most remarkable characteristic of the construction, in addition to his sencilled and functionality,
are the two great statues that lay out the entrance to the enclosure. |
